What I'm Thankful For...Turkey Trot Blog Hop!

Happy Thanksgiving my USA lovelies!

Today I'm going to list the top five things I am most thankful for and then I'm going to do a fun giveaway!

1.  God in my life.  Until I found a small church, Vineyard Church of Augusta, I felt adrift.  I hope you find your truth, whether it be a a religion or a spiritual guide seek what it takes to settle your soul.

2.  My husband. Let me tell you something many don't believe is true. (I promise it's true) This year will be our fifteenth anniversary and the Mr. and I have never had an argument. Not one fight.  We're both too easy going to sweat the small stuff.  Usually we either laugh annoyances off or roll our eyes and let it go.  He is an amazing man, who was willing to take on a crazy single mom and her two teenage daughters without blinking an eye.  He not only accepted my girls, but boy did he love them.  That he loves us so much it makes me get teary just thinking about it.

3.  Circle of friends.  I love people and enjoy making new friends.  However I have a core circle of friends I know will not only support me through the rough parts, but will walk through the "valley of death" beside me.

4.  Dogs.  Everyone should have a dog at least once in their life.  The unwavering love from a creature that loves you no matter what is one of those things that makes life so much better.  Its always a party when you get home and if you need someone  to listen without judgement, no one is better than a dog.  I like cats too, but my cats would walk off when I started talking.

5.  Last but not least, I am thankful for new opportunities and fresh starts.  Take a few moments today and consider the one are you'd like a start fresh start.  Whether a new career, a relationship or the dreary wall color.  Don't put it off, go forth and conquer!

Join my newsletter for previews, giveaways and fun drink recipes!  Hildie's Newsletter

Now for my giveaway, I will be gifting two people who comment, an ebook of mine of your choosing!  All you have to do is answer this question.

Question:  Which area of your life would you like to refresh?  What is the first step?

Love & Grace

When Ciara Knight approached me for this wonderful project, I jumped on it immediately.  Every author should do a project for a charity that is close to his or her heart.  Not only because of the obvious need, but also because giving back, in my opinion, is something every human should do.

This anthology is a project of love and hope and to raise funds for Gracepoint, a school for children with dyslexia.  As someone who has lived with mild dyslexia, I can’t imagine how hard it is for youngsters who have it worse.

Please purchase a copy, not only will every reader give to this worthy cause, but in exchange for only 99c, you will receive twelve heartwarming romantic novellas.

Love & Grace: A bundle of 12 Wholesome Romances.

Romance for the soul, a gift from the heart

This collection of sweet and inspirational novellas has an uplifting love story for everyone. These stories bring a touch of grace to romance, and a touch of romance to your heart.

Our twelve authors have collaborated to bring together this collection. Each story relates to dyslexia in some way, and the full proceeds from all the stories benefit GRACEPOINT – A School for Dyslexia. This box set is our collective gift of love and support to you and the children GRACEPOINT serves.

Can a town save a marriage? Will a high school reunion offer a second chance at love? Can a man with a secret and a woman afraid of being hurt learn to trust? Can a girl running from her past escape her heart? Will a woman trapped in the past discover the true importance of family? Can unexpected love become the best present ever?

You’ll find hours of enjoyment as well as a satisfying ending to each story. No cliffhangers and no partial novels are offered here, just an escape into worlds of love, families, and grace.

A special thank you to all the authors who donated stories;

The Gentrys of Montana

Most of my western historical romances are more romantic than sensual.  I love to keep the sexual tension there, but refrain from having most of the characters make love while on the page.  Then the Gentry's came along.

These three hot brothers are not like my other westerns.  They are sexy risk takers who do not mind disrobing while the reader watches every single detail.
The reason?  I was asked for sensual western historical romances from a specific publisher and being she's a good friend, I agreed.

It was fun to write the three novellas and undress these cowboys.  I hope you get the opportunity to read them and enjoy Grant, Emerson and Lincoln Gentry as they not only romance you, but seduce you page after page.

How do you feel about sensual westerns?  Are you daring enough to read them?

Marching In, Marching Out

It's St. Patrick's day and not a pot o'gold in sight.  Dang it!

I have been out of sorts since the time changed and can't quite seem to get things straight.  Although I know what time it is, my mind and body are slow to catch up.  Funny this doesn't happen when time "falls back."  Hope you are faring better.

So this morning even after realizing it was St. Patrick's Day I didn't wear green.  I already had my new super cute Torrid sweat-shorts and pink Piggly Wiggly t-shirt.  So I threw on some shamrock earrings and called it a day.

Thankfully when I met my girlfriends for lunch, only two wore green.  The other two wore some kind of St. Patty's day jewelry, so fit right in.

I promoted the one book that had a lot of green, although it's a Scottish Highlander romance, it's pretty close to Ireland wouldn't you say?

Have a groovy St. Patrick's Day!!

Fate's wicked sense of humor strikes Highland guard Faolan Mackinnon when he ends up betrothed to Catriona Grant, a fiery lass, who he met only minutes earlier.

A heartbroken Highland guard's last desperate attempt to regain the woman he loves becomes a journey across Scotland to a mysterious well that grants wishes. However upon getting to know a beautiful lass in the village of Moy, Faolan Mackinnon questions his true feelings.

Catriona Grant is sure both her overbearing brother and the handsome stranger from Skye will balk when she challenges the newcomer to announce their betrothal. Instead she finds herself tied to a man, who is too honorable to dismiss her public pronouncement.

How will two people who destiny brings together in the most unconventional way find they are meant to be?

It is a Hangover? Nope, it the After Holiday Fog!

Congratulations, you made it.  Another holiday season under your belt, you wonderous super hero you!

I barely made it out alive.  Not so much the overeating at Thanksgiving during which I stayed out of the yearly "should we serve unsweet tea for the Yankees" debate and I was smart enought not to go out on Black Friday. Silly ritual of people who don't understand the art of being shopaholics during the other 11 months of the year.

I always manage to avoid cooking, mainly because my husband is a great cook and also becuase everyone is scared of what I would serve.

What the hell is wrong with rotisserie chicken, canned green beans and cranberry jelly goop?  Perfect meal if you ask me and easy too.  Mashed potatoes and gravy are easy, unless you live at my house.  Thankfully the neighbors knew us well enough not to call the Po-Po at the controversy over skins off or on between the cooks. (My husband and daughter Karin)

Christmas wasn't bad except for the one kid who I always forget.  My sisters have too many children, it makes it hard for me to figure out who has how many and even worse, which kid belongs to whom.
There's this one kid that is either ten or twenty, he seems to morph from a boy to a man with a mustache.  Whoever this nephew is always gets a McDonald's gift card.  I don't remember him being born, but seems like a friendly sort.  A bit chubby.

New Years brought with it the dreaded croop.  The flu hit my house like a tornado leaving only the two little dogs unscathed.  Well except for the fact neither the hubster nor I had enough energy to take them for walks.  I tell you.  Sometimes, being a human sucks. The only good thing about being sick is that I appreciate feeling well so much more!

Wish you a wonderful 2016.  I have a bunch of great things planned, which I will share with you once I get it written down.

For now I thank you dear reader and ask that you please join my newsletter so that you can be part of my super secret "inner circle" of trust.  (SSIC) It's one of those super secret organizations, except without any badges or guns.

Click here to join and this month you will get a free short story.  It's a Christmas Historical Western.  Yee Haw...Ho Ho Ho.

Ciao!!

Happy Reading,

Hildie McQueen
